Where does the time go?

So you need more time? Where does it all go, mmmm?

You have all these things you want to do, all those papers you are going to go through 'later', the books you need to read, the trip you want to take. If you aren't doing the things you want, what are you doing? Aren't you busy all the time? It sure seems like it.

Do you get caught up in busy work or doing a lot of things for others? Yep, me too. We really have all the time we need we just have to focus it. I am serious, it actually works.

Would you like to know a short exercise to help you gain control of your time and while you are at it, learn how to make more money? I thought you would.

Alright, so go grab a pen and some paper. Or since you at your computer just open a word document.

This is simple but very powerful. There are 168 hours in every week, and 24 hours in every day. How are you spending them?

Step 1. Make a list of all the activities you do in your day and then in your entire week.
(Remember to include those activities that may not happen consitently but always pop up, like doing laundry)

Step 2. Write down how much time you spend each day and each week on average doing this activity.

Now the important one,

Step 3. How much money do you make from each of these activities? For example, I had a client once who told me she wanted to make more money so I told her to make her list. She was spending over 40 hours per week watching TV. Not making any money during this time. While on the other hand, the activities that made her money only recieved around 8 hours of her time per week! Can you guess how she could make more money? Me too.

Step 4. Calculate how much time you are spending doing things that don't make you money and how much time you are spending doing things that are not what you want to be doing.

Step 5. Rearrange your schedule to fit your needs.

Step 6. Enjoy doing what you like and having more money to do it.

You see, most of us say we want more time and money and what we don't realize is that we have the capability to create very easily. We just need to shift our thinking. If you can make $200 dollars an hour doing what you like, then put a couple more of those hours into your week and wave goodbye to the reruns of Law and Order! Bom -Bom. I know it is a great show.

Good Luck having the 'time' of your life.
